Surgical Fees

SURGEON’S FEES
Mr Pritchard is a “Known Gap” provider, therefore you will have an out of pocket cost for your surgery.

Surgery fees are discussed at the time of consultation with Mr Pritchard and an “Informed Financial Consent” is given.

Item numbers are provided for your specific surgery to enable you to check your level of cover with your health fund prior to surgery.

ANAESTHETIST FEE
You will be invoiced after surgery. The two practices Mr Pritchard uses are The Southern Anaesthesia Service and Yarrow Anaesthetics.

SURGICAL ASSISTANT FEE
A surgical assistant fee will apply for your surgery. You will receive a separate invoice and can claim a rebate from Medicare/Private Health Fund.

HOSPITAL COST
A co-payment or excess may apply depending on your health fund policy. We strongly advise you check your level of hospital cover prior to your planned procedure.

UNINSURED / SELF FUNDED PATIENTS
Please note Mr Pritchard does not work in at the Royal Hobart Hospital (public hospital).

If you wish to have surgery in a private facility a quote will be provided at the time of consultation.

You can claim a portion of Mr Pritchard’s fee from Medicare after your procedure.

Hospital quote is to be paid directly to the hospital and is not claimable through Medicare.

OTHER COSTS
Other costs related to your surgery may include pathology, radiology and general physician (if required).
